Read more TRAVELS FAR is a memorial honoring MTA colleagues lost to COVID-19. Family members shared photographs and selected colors reflected in the 111 portraits included in this special tribute to the heroic transit workers who dedicated their lives to moving New Yorkers around the city and region. TRAVELS FAR takes its name from an original poem by former US Poet Laureate, Tracy K. Smith, commissioned for the memorial. TRAVELS FAR will be presented on digital screens at 107 NYC Transit stations, thrice daily, Jan 25-Feb 7, 2020. Concept and design created by MTA Arts & Design. An online version of TRAVELS FAR features an original score of the same name by composer Christopher Thompson, commissioned for the memorial, and Tracy K.
